The advisory council started NICU STRONG to represent the strength and bond the families, babies, and medical professionals share when a baby is born premature.
More than 900 infants are admitted to the Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital annually. About 80 percent of them weigh less than three and a half pounds.
