Bergen College Honor Society Named No. 1 In The World
To earn the distinction, the chapter helped create a new curriculum for students who haven't declared a major yet and did an ASMR study.

PARAMUS, NJ — A honor society at Bergen Community College was recently named No. 1 in the world.
The college chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society was named the organization's most distinguished chapter in the world.
The chapter created two projects officials considered when deciding who should receive the distinguished chapter honor.

Chapter members collaborated with administrators and faculty to create a new curriculum for students who have not selected a major.
The second project involved a research study that analyzed the cognitive effects of autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) media. Students monitored subjects' brainwaves and measured the short-term effects ASMR has on anxiety compared to classical music.

Angie Goldszmidt, the chapter's adviser, said receiving the honor is a "surreal" experience.
"I am incredibly proud of our students, not only for the awards they received, but particularly for the exceptional work they have done this year," Goldszmidt said.
