Bergen County Art In The Park Show & Concert Happening Sunday

The 57th annual event will take place at Van Saun County Park in Paramus. It was rescheduled from Saturday to Sunday due to weather.

PARAMUS, NJ — The 57th annual Bergen County Art in the Park Show and Concert is scheduled to take place Sunday, Oct. 17 from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Van Saun County Park in Paramus.

More than 100 adult visual artists will be featured in the exhibition and sale, representing a wide scope of artistic diversity within Bergen County.

This juried show is judged in six categories: Acrylics/Oils; Drawings/Prints/Pastels; Mixed Media; Photography (Digital/Traditional); Photography (Digital Manipulation): and Watercolors. Cash prizes include 1st Place/$175; 2nd Place/$150; 3rd Place/$125; Honorable Mention/$100 and Best in Show: $525.

Guests can enjoy an afternoon in Van Saun County Park while viewing the work of some of North Jersey’s finest artists. There will also be public art demonstrations featuring mono-prints by Guttenberg Arts, watercolors by local artist/teacher Tenn Lu, collage by artist James Nonas and acrylics by the Art Center of Northern New Jersey.

This year, three organizations spotlighting artists with disabilities will be showcased: The Arc of Bergen and Passaic Counties, The New Jersey Expanding Capabilities, (NJ ECC) and Spectrum For Living.

The event will feature a music performance at 12:30 p.m. -3:30 p.m. by local classic rock/blues band, Sharp Edge. Leader Mike Brocato is a veteran of the NY/NJ music scene, entertaining and fronting bands for over 35 years. For more band info, click here.

Van Saun County Park is a wheelchair accessible site, and large print programs will be available.

*Note – Art in the Park was rescheduled from Saturday, Oct. 16 to Sunday Oct. 17 due to anticipated weather. A previous release from Tuesday, October 12 specified the initial Oct. 16 date.
