BERGEN COUNTY, NJ —Todd Caliguire beat Linda T. Barba in the Republican primary for Bergen County executive, according to unofficial results from the Bergen County Board of Elections.

Caliguire and a slate of other candidates endorsed by the Bergen County Republican Organization won over another group of Republicans looking to win their party's nod.

“I am very grateful for the overwhelming support I received yesterday from Bergen County voters in the primary," Caliguire said in a statement. "Our county’s residents are concerned with the effects that Democrat policies have had on their ability to pay for their gas and groceries, on their safety from crime, and on their children’s education."
