Winter Storm Warning Remains in Effect into Saturday

Paramus could wake up to about 12 inches or more of snow Saturday morning.

Heavy snowfall is expected to continue overnight Friday into Saturday leaving the Paramus area with another 5 to 9 inches by Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

By 9 p.m. Friday roughly 5.7 inches fell in the area according to the weather service. Snowfall is expected to continue to about 9 a.m. Saturday. Winter strom warning remains in effect until 1 p.m. Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

Paramus malls and several businesses closed early on Friday due to the weather conditions.

Garden State Plaza will reopen at 12 p.m. on Saturday, according to its Facebook page. IKEA announced via Twitter it would close at 5 p.m. and reopen Saturday at noon.

The impending storm also forced Paramus schools to close early Friday.

NJ Transit suspended bus service as of 8 p.m. Friday until further notice. Customers are advised to check the website for updates on service.
