Body Of NJ Hiker Killed In Avalanche Found 4 Months Later
The body of a missing hiker from Bergen County who died in an avalanche this winter was recovered Friday, authorities said.
PALISADES PARK, NJ - The body of a missing hiker from Bergen County who died in an avalanche this winter was recovered last week, over four months after he was reported missing, authorities said.
The body of Yun Park. 66, of Palisades Park, was recovered near the base of Colchuck Peak in Washington on Friday, authorities said. His body was the last of the three climbers - who were killed by an avalanche while attempting to climb Colchuck Peak on Feb. 19 - to be recovered, according to the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office.
A hiker located Park’s body on Thursday afternoon, the sheriff’s office said. A helicopter rescue team recovered the body at around 11:15 a.m. the following day and turned it over to the Chelan County Coroner's Office.

The bodies of Seong Cho, a 54-year-old from Connecticut and Jeannie Lee, a 60-year-old from Queens, were previously recovered, according to the sheriff's office.
A fourth climber, a 56-year-old from New York, was hurt but managed to hike back to base camp where two others from the group stayed that day, officials said. The remaining two back at base camp sent a reporting party for help.
