College Counselor Receives 2012 NJ Award for Excellence
BCC Counselor Win Win Kyi was awarded the 2012 New Jersey Community College Counselors Association's Award for Counselor Excellence

Bergen Community College Professor Win Win Kyi will receive the 2012 New Jersey Community College Counselor’s Association’s Award for Counselor Excellence for her achievements and contributions to the counseling profession.
The Counselor’s Association, known as NJ3C, will honor Professor Kyi, of Hackensack, and the other award recipients at the association’s 32 Annual Conference on Nov. 30, 2012 at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft.
“Professor Kyi has dedicated her life to the success of her students,” said Jennifer Migliorino-Reyes, Bergen Community College Acting Dean for Student Success and Financial Aid. “She is a hard worker and makes a positive difference in the lives of the College’s students and her fellow faculty and staff members. Professor Kyi teaches the importance of self motivation and awareness, and encourages students to utilize their learning environment.”

Professor Kyi has worked in higher education for more than 30 years and has experience in the fields of international communications, and has successfully worked with international academic, business, cultural and political leaders.
She has volunteered for a variety of initiatives including Reading for Pleasure and Leisure, Plays from Around the World, and Moments in History and International Short Stories. Professor Kyi founded humanitarian projects including Myanmar Youth Association, Project Orphans, and Books for Development and School Supplies for Myanmar.

In addition, Professor Kyi has lived in Asia and the U.S. She holds a bachelor of arts degree and a master of arts degree from the University of Rangoon/London; and a master of education degree from Montana State University. Professor Kyi received recognitions from the Woman of Peace, Powerful Women and Powerful Voices, and a Mid-Career Fellowship at Princeton University.
