Driver, 83, Smashes Through Paramus Nail Salon: Police

PARAMUS, NJ — A 83-year-old man plowed his Lexus SUV into the front of a Paramus nail salon, sending the vehicle into the store, and walked away unharmed, according to authorities.

Several people were inside of Bliss Nails at the time of the crash Tuesday, all uninjured except for one who had sustained a minor hand injury, Paramus police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg said.

EMS treated and released the 59-year-old female victim, who lives in Paramus. The driver, who had smashed through the window and wall of the store, was also identified as a borough resident, Ehrenberg said.

Authorities deemed the structure safe, and referred to the Paramus Building Department for further inspection, police said.

Motor vehicle summonses are pending completion of the investigation into the crash, the cause of which has yet to be determined, police said.

Bliss Nails did not respond to a call for comment.
