Fire Extinguished At Paramus High School: Cops

Staff members quickly put out the fire, police said.

PARAMUS, NJ - No injuries were reported after a small fire broke out at Paramus High School on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

At 1:16 p.m., a fire was reported in lighting fixture in a hallway behind the school's auditorium, triggering the fire alarm and an evacuation, police said.

The fire - which was contained to the lighting fixture - was quickly extinguished by staff members, police said.

Police and firefighters also responded to the scene to ensure the flames were out and there was no further issues.

Classes resumed "a short time later," police said.
