Guidetti Will Be Promoted to Paramus Police Captain
Paramus governing body moves forward with list of pending promotions within the police department.

The Paramus governing body has named Detective Lt. Robert Guidetti as Captain of the Paramus Police Department.
Guidetti who has been with the Paramus Police Department since 1987 will fill the captain position which was vacated when Kenneth Ehrenberg was promoted from Captain to Deputy Chief, a position which had been vacated for a few years.
Ehrenberg is now Acting Chief as Chief Christopher Brock has begun his retirement.
Tuesday night the governing body also made a move towards filling a number of other positions within the police department. Currently there are four acting Detective Sgts. and one acting Detective Lt. for well over a year, according to Councilwoman Maria Elena Bellinger, who serves as police commissioner.

Last month the governing body introduced an ordinance that will set up a procedure for how promotions are granted within the police department.
The ordinance is expected to be adopted at the April 23 mayor and council meeting.
