Man Dies Of Injuries Suffered In Bergen County House Fire
A 27-year-old man died of injuries suffered in a two-alarm fire in Lyndhurst on Thursday, while others escaped, prosecutors said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A 27-year-old man has died from injuries suffered in a two-alarm fire in Lyndhurst on Thursday, prosecutors said.
Ahmed Abidar died on Friday after firefighters removed him from a blaze on Jay Avenue in Lyndhurst shortly after 5:30 a.m. Thursday, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.
He was unresponsive when firefighters removed him from the third floor, prosecutors said.

First responders began CPR on him while on the scene, they said.
He was brought to Clara Maass Medical Center in critical condition.

Other people in the home either self-evacuated or were assisted by first responders, prosecutors said.
They were treated at area hospitals.
An investigation conducted by the Bergen County Arson Squad and local fire officials determined that the fire does not seem suspicious, prosecutors said.
