Bergen Leaders Tackle Non-Profit Challenges at Public Forum
The Volunteer Center of Bergen County's Bergen LEADS program hosts free seminar at Bergen Community College Tuesday, June 11.

Bergen civic leaders will come together this Tuesday at Bergen Community College to address the challenges that today's non-profit groups face in the wake of a recession and slow recovery.
The members of the Volunteer Center of Bergen County's Bergen LEADS program, all county residents, including Denise Andersen and Rachel Glickman of Paramus, have researched what they call the "new normal" and will offer explore current practices and make recommendations to non-profit leaders.
The seminar is set for Tuesday, June 11 in the Anna Marie Ciccone Theater at Bergen Community College from 3 to 5 p.m. Pre-registration is required and can be done by callig 201-489-9454 Ext. 112 or visit www.bergenleads.org.

“When faced with dwindling funds, the traditional response would be to either cut services or grow revenue," said William “Pat” Schuber, former Bergen County Executive and Bergen LEADS seminar director in an announcment. "Many organizations, already lean, have cut expenses to the bone, severely hampering their ability to meet their mission. On the revenue side, more and more organizations are competing for scarce dollars, often with little success."
The forum will be moderated by Nina Stack, president of the Council of New Jersey Grantmakers.
