Paramus All-Stars Get Ready to Face Wizards in Sold Out Game
The Harlem Wizards and Paramus Community All Stars will once again face off on the court in a charity game that sold out weeks ago.
Next Friday two teams will face off on the basketball court yet again in what has now become the most anticipated game of the year.
In fact it sold out in just about 48 hours.
The Harlem Wizards return to Paramus March 1 to take on the Community All-Stars team once again featuring borough and school leaders in a game that is meant to bring the entire community together, all in the name of fun.

Paramus Rotary Club once again is the main sponsor of the event but many groups are also involved including the Paramus High School National Honor Society, the React Clubs at both East Brook and West Brook middle schools, said Marty Diamond of the Paramus Rotary.
The public library and chamber of commerce are also sponsors and Paramus-based USB Financial Services is the corporate sponsor, said Diamond.

Superintendent Ken Rota will coach the Paramus All-Stars who will take on the Harlem Wizards who are often compared to the Harlem Globetrotters for their mix of basketball skill and comedy.
Last year the Wizards beat the All-Stars 86-82 also in front of a sellout crowd.
Mayor Richard LaBarbiera will once again take to the court this year and will be joined by Police Chief Christopher Brock, Fire Chief Greg Hopkins and Library Director Len LoPinto, said Diamond. Also two teachers from every school will be on the team and teachers and members of the school administrative team will make up the cheering squad, he said.
More groups are involved including all the local Club Scouts, Brownie and Girl Scout troops and Eagle Scouts who will assist with the National Anthem which will be sung by the Paramus Scholarship Show performers.
Diamond says Thomas Caruso, an eighth grade student at West Brook Middle School who is being treated for osteosarcoma, will be the special guest of honor.
Diamond says all monies raised by this event go back to the schools, the PTAs to benefit the students.
The game will be held at Paramus High School at 7 p.m. Friday, March 1. Tickets are all sold out.
