Paramus College Student Wins $100K From Dr. Pepper

Navid Radfar, a student at College of New Jersey, is the grand prize winner in the Dr. Pepper Tuition Giveway contest, bringing him one step closer to reaching his dream of attending medical school.

Paramus’ Navid Radfar dreams of holding the title of doctor one day, hoping to cure diseases and help change the world.

He is going to get that chance thanks to another “doctor” – Dr. Pepper.

The college sophomore has won Dr. Pepper’s annual tuition giveaway, earning $100,000 towards his education.

Radfar was sent down to North Carolina this weekend where he and another finalist competed at the ACC Championship football game for the grand prize.

Each had 30 seconds from the 5-yard line to get as many goals into a life-size can of Dr. Pepper as they could to win. Radfar got 12 goals, 2 more than his opponent, for the win.

Radfar said he can’t even find the words to describe how amazing it is to have won this tuition money. He currently studies Biology with a possible minor in psychology and public health at the College of New Jersey and always hoped medical school would be in his future even though he knows how costly it would be.

Now Dr. Pepper has brought him so much closer, he says.

The young college student says he hopes to become a neurosurgeon where he can work to find cures for brain cancer or Alzheimer’s disease.

In his video submission for the tuition contest, Radfar says “Please Dr. Pepper held out another future doctor.” Smiling at the camera he also  says he is sure to never be lonely all those late nights studying at the library as he’s sure to have a bottle of Dr. Pepper at his side.

Radfar says he hopes his story can help inspire others to follow their dreams. He says people should never let someone else tell  them what they can or can’t do.

“If you want something, work hard for it because dreams can become realities,” Radfar advised.
