Paramus Comes Back to Defeat Morris Knolls, Advances in Playoffs
Check out the highlights of the Spartans playoff win on Friday evening.
The Paramus Spartans won their first round matchup of the NJSIAA sectional championships against Morris Knolls on Friday.
Paramus trailed 21-13 at the end of the first half during which Morris Knolls was running the ball at will. Knolls runs a triple-option offense; meaning the quarterback can hand the ball off to a fullback, halfback or keep the ball himself based on the action of the defense.
“It was one of those situations where you’re not familiar with your opponent and you haven’t really played anybody similar. You try to simulate what they do in practice but it was really tough to simulate what they did tonight,” said Spartans Head Coach Dan Sabella.

With the victory, Paramus moves on in the NJSIAA’s to face Old Tappan in the semifinals of their section.
“Paramus and Old Tappan have a little bit of a history. We’ve played some really good games over the years,” said Sabella. “I’m sure its going to be another war."
Paramus is set to host Old Tappan on Friday evening at 7 p.m.
