Detectives witnessed the alleged drug deal at the Route 4 Shop Rite parking lot, according to Paramus Police.

Paramus police arrested three area residents on heroin-related charges Friday at the Shop Rite parking lot on Route 4, Captain Robert Guidetti reported Saturday.

Emily Mattessich, 22, of River Vale was charged with one count of possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia, Jirell Williams, 28, of Paterson with one count of distribution of heroin in excess of ½ ounce and Steven Hollar, 49, of River Vale was charged with one count of loitering to obtain a controlled dangerous substance, according to a police statement.

Guidetti said detectives were on routine crime prevention watch when they saw Mattessich and Hollar meet Williams in the parking lot. The detectives allegedly saw Mattessich hand money to Williams and receive a plastic bag which they later found contained 50 glassine envelopes of heroin marked “World Star,”  said Guidetti.
