Winter Wonderland Arrives in Paramus
Annual tree lighting and winter carnival were held at Borough Hall on Wednesday night
Paramus held its annual tree lighting at Borough Hall on Wednesday in honor of the upcoming holidays. The Paramus High School choir along with entertainer Ron Albanese kept the chill away from the crowd's spirits while waiting for Santa, Frosty, Rudolph and special guests, the Caruso and Bonastia families, to arrive and help light the tree.
For the second year, a winter carnival followed the lighting but this time in the parking lot outside of borough hall with rides, treats and games. Children could meet with Santa inside borough hall, dance inside the Rescue Squad building or hop a ride on the Royal Express train. Even New Jersey Housewife Melissa Gorga, husband Joe and children Antonia, Gino, and Joey arrived for the carnival.
The annual avent has historically been held in Petruska Park, but had to be relocated as Hurricane Sandy damaged a pair of evergreen trees. The borough's Menorah lighting will take place on Dec. 8 for the first night of Hannukah.
