Paramus' Farmer's Market Opens Wednesday
Market runs every Wednesday starting this week until mid-September.

The Paramus Farmers Market is back!
Starting this Wednesday, June 19, from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m., the market returns to the parking lot next to Petruska Park for its second season.
Inge DiPasquale of the Environmental Commission, which sponsors the market, says that in addition to favorite vendors from last year the market welcomes several new ones which asked to join this year.

Among the products the new vendors will bring includes Mediterranean specialties like hummus, taboulle, spinach pie, and stuffed grape leaves from Nana's Home Kitchen; a variety of cheeses from Edgwick Farms; grass fed beef, chicken and fresh eggs from Lowland Farms and Peg's Eggs; and Sanducci's Trattoria will be offering pizza both frozen and baked, explained DiPasquale.
Also shoppers can cool off with Uncle Louie G's Italian Ice with fresh fruit toppings, Lizzmonade's fresh lemonade or Amanda Banana's fresh frozen soft serve fruit with toppings.

Session Bistro of Maywood will be working with the market to offer farm to table dinners on Wednesdays at their restaurant throughout the summer, according to DiPasquale.
Also the Environmental Committee will have a composter for all organic waste to help keep it out of the municipal waste stream. To make the market 'green' the committee will promote recycling of bottles, cans and plastic and members of the Environmental Commission will be on hand to answer questions as well, she says.
The market will also welcome performing arts groups from local businesses to provide entertainment and the Paramus Library, Produce Pete and Fred Behnke of the Behnke Museum are expected to join with photos, artifacts and old farm equipment, reports DiPasquale.
