Paramus High School Benefits From Local Business Donation

Bob's Discount Furniture chose Paramus High School as a recipient of a $1,000 donation from its outreach program in support of arts and education programs.

Paramus High School has benefitted from a local business’ generosity.

The high school is among seven schools in the state to have received a $1,000 donation from Bob’s Discount Furniture.

The furniture store chain, which has a location on Route 17 in Paramus, makes donations each month to random schools in the communities near its stores. This month Bob’s chose to support education and arts programs with these cash awards, according to a company statement.  The funds the store donates come from These customer donations which are left in collection jars in the cafes found in all Bob’s stores.

The school was very happy to receive the funds, said Paramus High School Interim Principal Anthony Panico.  The principal explained this was not something the school had to apply for or ask for, it just strictly came from the store’s foundation which chose Paramus High School as one of the recipients.

Panico says there are no set plans yet for how the funds will be used at this time but he would like to see it be put towards instruction, perhaps for the purchase of software or literature for the library, or some type of educational materials of which the need could arise through the course of the school year.
