Paramus Police Locate Both Missing Teens [UPDATE]

Paramus Police said Wednesday both teen brothers who had been reported missing this week have been located.

Captain Robert Guidetti of the Paramus Police Department said Wednesday the two teens, who are natives of India visiting the U.S. on a class trip, had left the group they are traveling with on their own terms and had been reported missing when they did not return to meet up with the group at the hotel they were staying at in Rochelle Park.

The Paramus Police had teamed up with the state police Tuesday and sent a Nixle alert about the missing teens reporting that they had last been seen at Garden State Plaza late Monday afternoon

Guidetti said Gurpreet, 16, the older of the two brothers was found at Terminal #7 at JFK airport on Tuesday after receiving tips that he had been spotted.  Police confirmed Wednesday the younger brother Robin, 15, was "with family and in good health" said Guidetti.

Police learned that the brothers had left the group to meet up with relatives who live in Queens. The older brother Gurpreet had decided to return to India and headed to the airport which was where he was located by Port Authority police on Tuesday, Guidetti said.

Guidetti credits social media for helping the police to put the pieces of the puzzle together as well as the partnership with the New Jersey State Police and the Port Authority who took part in this investigation.
