Kids Enjoy Paramus Rescue Squad's Halloween Festivities
Paramus Rescue Squad held its annual "Safe Halloween" party Monday night.
Children dressed as princesses, super heros, rock stars and other fun creative costumes were all smiles as they took in the very many fun Halloween festivities offered to them by the Paramus Rescue Squad Monday night.
And it didn't even matter one little bit that it wasn't Oct. 31.
Paramus Rescue Squad has been presenting its "Safe Haloween" party for the children of Paramus since just after 9/11 to provide them with a safe environment to enjoy Halloween.

This year's event was held nearly two weeks later due to the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy which left thousands without power for more than a week.
Pam Natoli, vice president of Paramus Rescue and chair of the Halloween event said the Rescue Squad loves to put this on for the chldren ever year.

She says all the members volunteer their time to decorate the entire place. Decorations were everywhere greeting the children out front and spiders and ghosts and other fun decorations hung all over the fire house.
The children and their families were treated to pizza, hot dogs, popcorn, candy and more. Everything is free for the children and their families says Natoli. They also do a little Tricky Tray which is fun for the parents to take part in. Many of the items in the Tricky Tray are donated by local businesses, she says.
Moms and Dads smiled as their watched their youngsters dancing and jumping around on the dance floor to the music provided by Dance Extreme Entertainment. DJ Evan Greenberg has been donated his time to this Halloween party every year for the past 10 years. He says he really loves the town of Paramus and enjoys this party every year.
Another fun attraction for the children was a special fire truck covered in TV screens which played movies for the kids provided by former Paramus resident and longtime friend of the squad Dave Gutwill who brings it to the event year. Gutwill says it's something he started years ago for his own children and each year he is sure to bring it this annual event for the kids to enjoy.
