PHS School Counselor Awarded for Leadership & Student Support (tapinto.net) — A longtime Paramus High School counselor, Shannon Moran, is being honored by the district for her leadership and deep commitment to student support. Since 2014, she’s expanded her work beyond college planning to focus on mental health, life skills, and multicultural counseling, helping Paramus students navigate both academic and personal challenges.
   

2. Bergen County Winter Wonderland to Host Menorah Lighting, Live Music Dec. 19-21 (tapinto.net) — Bergen County’s Winter Wonderland at Van Saun County Park in Paramus packs this weekend with Hanukkah celebrations, a community menorah lighting, live music, and plenty of ice skating. Families can catch performances, food trucks, and Mr. and Mrs. Claus as the attraction enters its fourth weekend and continues through early January with extended holiday hours.
   

3. Paramus Boys Basketball Is Ready To Compete in '25–'26 Season (tapinto.net) — Paramus High School’s boys basketball team is gearing up for a challenging 2025–26 season, with key seniors Justin Olivo and Grant Lauciskus leading an inexperienced but determined Spartans squad. Coach Dan Reddan expects younger players to grow quickly as Paramus battles tough Big North Freedom Division rivals like Ramapo, Northern Highlands, Ridgewood, and Hackensack.
   

4. Tragedy that led to NJ law on removing snow/ice from your car (palivingnews.com) — A deadly 1996 crash on Route 17 in Paramus, where ice flew off a tractor-trailer and fatally injured driver Michael Eastman, helped spur New Jersey’s law requiring drivers to clear snow and ice from their vehicles. The piece explains the fines for failing to do so and urges motorists to remember the tragedy when they’re tempted to skip cleaning off their cars this winter.
