PHS Class of '68 Comes Together to Help a Friend in Need

Susan Dwyer Barry Wellington is a proud member of the 1968 Paramus High School graduating class. Unfortunately, Wellington has developed stage four lung cancer and has no help coming from any form of insurance.

Susan was formerly married to Bob Barry, a former Paramus Police Officer and has a great friend, and fellow Paramus High School graduate, Corinne Reina who is doing everything she can to help her out. 

“One of the worst parts is that she is trying to help her grandchildren with college and then this came up," said Reina.

Reina, with the help of friends Patti LeRose Diaz and Joanne Savino Cicchelli, has organized a fundraiser to help Susan deal with imminent medical costs.

The fundraiser will include the following: 

• Food Donated by Carl Posey Catering
• Music Donated by Rhythm and Rock
• 50/50 and Tricky Tray
• Stand-Up Comedy
• Mixers will be supplied and the event is BYOB

“Most of us have been involved with music for a long time. We’ll have a band playing but if you want to bring an instrument, you can get right up there and jam with them,” said Reina.

Reina has been to a number of local business to let them know about the event and many of them have wanted to contribute. Morton’s Steak House, Suburban Diner, Emerson Hotel, Brooks Brothers and more have all already contributed items that will be raffled off at the event.

The evening of fun, set for Friday, Nov. 22 at 7 p.m., will take place at the American Legion Post 170, 33 West Passaic St. Rochelle Park, New Jersey.

Tickets cost $45 in advance or $50 at the door.
