Power Outage Reports as Storm Hits Paramus

According to PSE&G between 2,000 and 5,000 customers may be without power as of Tuesday evening.

As a severe storm ripped through the area, more than 2,000 PSE&G customers were said to be without power in Paramus Tuesday evening according to the company's website.

As per PSE&G's Twitter feed Tuesday evening customers are urged to call 1-800-436-7734 to report outages. 

A tornado watch had been issued until 7 p.m. for the Bergen County area.

Showers and thunderstorms are predicted to continue throughout Bergen and surrounding counties through Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Tuesday night - Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly before 4am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4am. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Low around 62. Breezy, with a south wind 13 to 21 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 47 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Wednesday afternoon - A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7am, then a slight chance of showers between 7am and 9am. Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 72. Northwest wind 9 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Wednesday night  -  Mostly clear, with a low around 51. North wind around 7 mph.
