BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Foghat is coming to Bergen County.

The legendary classic rock band will be performing on May 20 at the Bergen Performing Arts Center, according to a release.

"(Foghat's) live performances show why the band is still around and why they will be able to keep on rockin' as long as they want to play," BergenPAC said on its website.

A "mainstay" on the music scene since forming in 1971 in London, Foghat "are the undisputed kings of Boogie Rock," a spokesperson for the band said.

Classic hits include "Fool for the City", "I Just Want to Make Love to You", "Drivin' Wheel", "Stone Blue", and the group's signature song "Slow Ride".

Now in its 52nd year, Foghat has released more than 20 albums and continues to tour nonstop — "to the delight" of longtime fans and a younger generation of concertgoers, the spokesperson John Lappen said.

"Foghat's unique mix of blues, hard rock and boogie, and its signature use of slide guitar has earned the band eight gold records, one platinum record and one double platinum record," Lappen said.

Opening the show for the group is blues-rock artist Dana Fuchs, whose raspy voice — Foghat's spokesperson said — invites comparisons to famed singer Janis Joplin.

Foghat posted a clip of Fuchs performing a cover of The Beatles' "Don't Let Me Down" with the rock band's drummer Roger Earl on cardboard box that can be found here.

"It's going to be an awesome night of music with us and Dana Fuchs," Foghat said in a social media post.
