SADDLE BROOK, NJ – An 18-year-old Saddle Brook man faces charges after police say he called Paramus police department on Monday afternoon and claimed there was a bomb on campus at Bergen Community College.

Nicholas Donnarumma was arrested Tuesday following an investigation and charged with two counts of false public alarm and two counts of terroristic threats, according to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella.

The previous afternoon, the prosecutor’s office Cyber Crimes Unit was notified by Paramus police that an unknown caller using technology to make his caller ID anonymous placed two phone calls to the department, saying there was a bomb at Bergen Community College, Musella said.

No injuries were reported.

From there, the cyber crimes unit and sheriff’s office launched an investigation to trace the calls and determined Donnarumma placed the calls, Musella said.

Authorities also said Donnarumma made a similar phone call to Saddle Brook police on Oct. 27 claiming a bomb had been planted at a local business, prompting first responders to arrive and sweep the building, Musella said.

After processing, Donnarumma was released pending a Dec. 4 court appearance.
