Shake Shack Opens First NJ Location in Paramus

Shake Shack—a critically acclaimed, modern day “roadside” burger stand known for its delicious burgers, hot dogs, frozen custard, beer, wine and more—planted its roots in the Garden State and opened the doors to their new location in Paramus Saturday morning.

“We’ve had our eye on New Jersey for a long time, and we’re thrilled to finally be a part of this community and further our commitment to the Tri-State Area,” said Shake Shack CEO Randy Garutti.  “Opening a Shack in Jersey has special meaning for me after growing up and beginning my restaurant career in Bergen County.”

The Paramus Shake Shack is partnering with Buddies of New Jersey, a resource center supporting people affected by HIV/AIDS. Shake Shack team members plan to volunteer at events run by the organization.

In addition, Shake Shack has a commitment to green architecture and eco-friendly construction. The interior walls of the Paramus Shack are clad in a variety of reclaimed woods from local and regional farms including red oak, cypress and weathered board-fence rails. Chairs and booths are made from lumber certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and tabletops are made from reclaimed bowling alley lanes.

If you like a beer with your burger, you can bring your own beer or wine as long as you don’t mind them checking your identification, just to be safe.
