Six Hundred Expected at Paramus Relay for Life
Community wide fundraiser for the American Cancer Society has already raised more than $70,000.

Friday night more than six hundred will walk the Paramus High School track united in the fight against cancer.
This Relay for Life event, the signature fundraising event for the American Cancer Society, is the first one for the entire Paramus community.
By Thursday afternoon more than 46 teams were signed up with 614 participants. Their fundraising efforts have already surpassed the $50,000 goal bringing in more than $70,000.

The event will be held overnight beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday with opening ceremonies and will close at 7 a.m. on Saturday. Erika DiPasquale, event chair, has said the event is held overnight to show that cancer never sleeps.
Community groups have formed their own teams and numerous businesses are taking part in contributing to the event.

The walk will begin with the Survivors lap where all those who have fought cancer and are battling cancer will be recognized. At 10 p.m. there will be a Luminaria ceremony and throughout the night there will be activites and events going on to help raise funds and entertain the walkers.
