State Senate Leader Talks Small Business With Paramus Technology Company
State Senate President Steve Sweeney visited Paramus-based Mycell Technologies as part of his ongoing small business listening tour, designed to better understand the needs of New Jersey's small businesses during these difficult economic times.
State Senate President Steve Sweeney continued his small business listening tour Friday visiting Paramus-based Mycell Technologies learning how the company grew from a small team of three to a thriving business that is now launching products nationally.
Sweeney spent time with CEO Benjamin D. Mamola and President John Iannou and other principal members of the team learning about the companies technologies that set out to revolutionize the way Omega3 is delivered.
The company was first brainstormed back in 2005 by Mamola, a native of Paramus, who wanted to find an easier way for people to get the health benefits of Omega3. Partnering with a team of scientists the company created proprietary technologies that enable Omega 3 to be infused with water, gelatins and nutrional gels creating a line of revolutionary products.

Although there were some struggles along the way, the company has quickly grown in size and is now embarking on the launch its many products some of which will be carried by New Jersey retailers and others across the nation, explained Mamola. The company's Omega Infusion enhanced water will soon be carried by Stop and Shop and other retailers, the CEO explained. The water has zero calories and 80mg of Omega3s.
Businesses in New Jersey may have tough times surviving and legislators do try to get things done in their favor but it may miss the mark, said the state senator. Sweeney sought the co-founders' advice and suggestions which he plans to use in Trenton to better benefit small businesses owners like themselves.

In addition to the Omega3 enhanced water making its way to the shelves, other products from Mycell Technologies include nutritional shots, medical applications and medical food and skin care. The company is also working on a partnership for pet care products providing cats and dogs with Omega3 benefits as well.
Sweeney applauded the products after sampling the enhanced water. He said for those who don't really have the time to excercise and eat right the products are a great way to get nutritional benefits.
