1 Stabbed At Parsippany Hotel Halloween Event: Police

PARSIPPANY, NJ - An altercation at a multi-day Halloween event in Parsippany resulted in a stabbing on Sunday, authorities said.

David C. Knestrick, 47, of Norwalk, Conn., was charged in connection with a stabbing at the Hilton Hotel, Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Chief of Detectives Christoph K. Kimker and Parsippany-Troy Hills Township Acting Police Chief Richard Pantina said in a statement.

The incident occurred during Chiller Theatre Expo, a Halloween-themed convention.

A police investigation later found that a private security officer who was working the event was stabbed with a knife while intervening in an altercation between Knestrick and other patrons at the event at around noon.

The victim of the stabbing, whose identity was not released by police, was transported to Morristown Medical Center for treatment, police said. The guard’s condition was not immediately made clear.

Knestrick was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon. He was charged on a warrant-complaint and remains in custody pending a court appearance.
