Acid Spill Injures Parsippany Cop, Sewage Employee: PD
The two sustained minor injuries at the Parsippany Sewer Plant, police said.
PARSIPPANY, NJ — An acid spill at the Parsippany Sewer Plant injured a plant employee and a Parsippany police officer, police said.
The sill happened Thursday afternoon when the valve on a 330 gallon storage tank broke, police said. An employee and a responding officer were both exposed to peroxyacetic acid.
The employee sustained chemical burns, while the officer reported systems of chemical exposure, police said. Both were decontaminated and taken to Morristown Medical Center for treatment. Both have since been released, police said.
