Armed Robbery, Multiple Shoplifting Reports: Parsippany PD Blotter

PARSIPPANY, NJ — Police in Parsippany made several warrant arrests, investigated shoplifting reports, and looked into reported residential and business burglaries recently.

Police released descriptions of notable calls for service between March 1 and March 9, including:

On March 1 at 6:51 p.m., officers responded to an armed robbery reported at 1280 Route 46. The suspect was described as a tall, thin man wearing all black clothing, a white trucker-style hat, and white sneakers and carrying a handgun. Police did not locate the suspect, but safely evacuated everyone inside and reported no injuries. Anyone with information is asked to call the Parsippany Police Department’s Investigative Branch at 973-263-4300.

On March 4 at 5:29 p.m., officers reported to the Target at 1157 Route 46 for a reported shoplifting, where a man attempted to leave the store with merchandise worth $627.43 that he had not paid for. The man ended up leaving the cart and fleeing the store.

On March 5 at 5:19 p.m., a homeowner on East Brooklawn Drive told police her home had been burglarized, and the suspect entered a rear door to the attached garage.

On March 6 at 3:16 p.m., officers responded to Ulta Beauty for a past shoplifting. Officials said a male suspect described as approximately 5’10"-6’2" tall wearing a black and white plaid jacket and gray beanie hat, stole various perfumes and cosmetics totaling $1,099. A suspect matching the description also stole various items from an Ulta Beauty store in Kearny. Police responded to the Ulta store for multiple other reported burglaries last week.

On March 7 at 7:27 a.m., police arrested a Lake Hiawatha woman for joyriding after taking a resident's vehicle that was idling in his driveway.

On March 9 at 1:34 p.m., police investigated a suspicious person who was going door-to-door telling residents he was from the electric service company and soliciting business. Officials charged the 19-year-old Belvedere man with soliciting without a permit.
