Body Pulled From Passaic River: New Details Released

The Morris County Prosecutor's Office, Montville Police are asking the public for help in identifying the body found in the Passaic River.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — New information was released Thursday to identify the body that was pulled from the Passaic River in Montville on Sunday, officials say.

Two fishermen reported to Montville Police that they saw a body in the Passiac River near Route 46 around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. Patch first reported the story here.

The Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office (MCMEO) described the body as a dead man, about five-feet, seven-inches tall, and weighing about 166 pounds.

The man is either Black or mixed race and is likely between 20 to 35 years old, according to the MCMEO.

The man has two tattoos: the first is on his chest and reads "Toolie." The second tattoo is on his lower left arm and reads: "For those I love I will sacrifice."

No foreign objects were found in the body, according to the MCMEO.

The MCMEO has not determined a cause or manner of death yet, but it is not believed to be criminal, according to officials.
