Chick-Fil-A To Open Soon In Parsippany On Route 46

PARSIPPANY, NJ — The well-known fast-food chain, Chick-fil-A, is preparing to open its newest location by the end of the year.

Chick-fil-A, which has locations across New Jersey, including one just outside Parsippany in the Briarcliff Commons shopping center in Morris Plains, is planning to open a new location on Route 46.

Demolition on the four old commercial buildings along Route 46 West began last month and construction is underway, Chick-fil-A, Inc. officials confirmed.

The fast food company received approval to begin construction in Parsippany from the township’s Zoning Board of Adjustment in August 2022, with only one member of the board voting no, Nancy Snyder.

Chick-fil-A, Inc. officials told Patch that the current plan is to finish construction by the end of the year, with the hope of opening the new Chick-fil-A restaurant in winter 2023 or early 2024, assuming no delays.

The new fast-food restaurant will be located in Colony Plaza, a 50,000-square-foot retail and office complex with highway frontage. The property on Route 46 West was sold in the year 2020.

Despite the restaurant's popularity, as evidenced by the busy grand opening of the Morris Plains location in 2019, several residents spoke out during the public hearing against the plan's approval.

One of the main issues residents had with the application was their fear of increased traffic in the area and long lines at the drive-thru.

Chick-fil-A is popular for its chicken sandwiches, nuggets, tenders, waffle fries and milkshakes. There are more than 50 Chick-fil-A locations in New Jersey and over 2,600 locations nationwide.
