UPDATE: Community Rallies Around Parsippany Family Displaced By Fire

The campaign appears to be closing in on its $25,000 goal. As of Thursday morning, over $21,000 had be raised.

PARSIPPANY, N.J.– An outpouring of support for a Parsippany family displaced by a fire has produced over $21,000 in donations.

As of Thursday morning, the GoFundMe campaign – created by a Morris Plains woman on behalf of her brother and his family – is approaching its $25,000 goal.

"Their home was the place family and friends gathered for holidays, parties, Sunday afternoon football and many happy occassions for two generations," Laura Visoskas said. "They lost everything except the clothes on their backs. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but the road to get back on their feet will be a long one

The fire at the Tarn Drive residence started around 8 p.m. Monday night.
