First Duck Donuts In Morris County Opens Its Doors

WHIPPANY, NJ — A popular donut chain has expanded into Morris County, with its first store opening in Whippany.

Fans of Duck Donuts have been waiting for the new store at 458 Route 10 to open, since the chain announced it would move into the Whippany Apartments' retail section last year. The chain's ninth New Jersey location opened this past weekend.

Duck Donuts, known for its warm, made-to-order cake donuts, will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Sunday according to their website. It joins other shopping center tenants such as Whippany Pizzeria, Jersey Mike's Subs, and Ivy Rehab Physical Therapy.

Duck Donuts' menu staples include the Bacon in the Sun flavor, which is made up of maple icing, chopped bacon, and salted caramel drizzle. Beach Ball is another classic, with a combination of sprinkles and a chocolate drizzle donut. Other menu items include breakfast sandwiches (on a donut), coffee and lattes, and ice cream donut sundaes.

Duck Donuts first opened its doors in 2007 in the North Carolina beach resort towns of Duck and Kitty Hawk, with the goal of creating a haven for vacationers to enjoy custom donuts. The Pennsylvania-based company began franchising in 2013 and has since become one of the fastest-growing donut franchise companies.
