Morris Man Bit Other Driver's Ear In Traffic Incident: Police
State police said they charged two men with simple assault after a road rage incident on I-287 in Parsippany, and one bit the other's ear.
PARSIPPANY, NJ — A Morris County man bit another driver's ear during a road rage incident along I-287 in Morris County on Monday, and state police said both were charged.
Officials said the incident happened just before 3:30 p.m. on March 11. Troopers responded to I-287 south at milepost 41.8 in Parsippany-Troy Hills for a reported road rage altercation, said a state police spokesman.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the 24-year-old Boonton man and a 55-year-old Bridgewater man got into a physical fight, said officials. The Boonton man allegedly bit the Bridgwater man's ear, and first responders took the 55-year-old to an area hospital for treatment.

Troopers said Wednesday that they were unable to confirm if the Bridgewater man had lost his ear.
According to the Morristown Daily Record, the Bridgewater man told police that the two began arguing when they were stuck in traffic. The man also said he got out of his vehicle with a hammer and grabbed the other man through his car window, resulting in the fight, the report said.

Officers later tracked down the Boonton man at a Parsippany gas station on Route 46, the Daily Record report added.
Both man have been charged with simple assault, and then were released pending a future court date, said police.
