Missing Elderly Man Found Quickly, Healthy With 'Lifesaver' Program: Cops
Parsippany man was located away from his home after authorities traced his wristband, police report.

PARSIPPANY, N.J. – A program designed to keep tabs on those susceptible to wandering or becoming lost was successfully implemented in Parsippany this week, and an elderly man is safe because of it.
At 3:14 p.m. on March 15, Parsippany police were advised by the Morris County Communications Center of a missing man, 82, who participates in the Morris County Sheriff’s Department’s Lifesaver Program, police said.
Police arrived on scene and were advised the male was last seen at 11:30 a.m. by a family member. Sheriff’s Officers were able to get a signal from the Project Lifesaver band the man was wearing, and located him in the area of North Beverwyck Road and Knoll Road within minutes of the initial dispatch, police said.

The man was found to be in good health and brought back to his residence.
The Project Lifesaver program has been implemented by the Morris County Sheriff’s Office in an effort to provide enhanced support and assistance to Morris County residents who are primary caregivers for an individual suffering from Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia disorder as well as families of children afflicted with Down syndrome, autism, traumatic brain injuries or cognitive impairments, the Sheriff’s Office said.
