New Italian Restaurant And Pizzeria Opens In Parsippany

Owner and chef Mario Ferra opened Capisce earlier this year, where Village Restaurant used to be in the Powder Mill Plaza Shopping Center.

PARSIPPANY-TROY HILLS, NJ — An address known for Italian fare now has a new name and a new owner, as Capisce Trattoria & Pizzeria has opened in Parsippany's Powder Mill Plaza Shopping Center.

Mayor James Barberio gave chef and owner Mario Ferra an official welcomewith a ribbon-cutting on Saturday, Feb. 3. Ferra owned and operated Pavinci Italian Grill in Hopatcong for more than 20 years. Now, he has opened up Capisce where Village Restaurant and Pizzeria used to be.

The menu includes classic pizzas and more gourmet options, like baked ziti pizza and white pizza with prosciutto and arugula. Square Sicilian pizzas are also on offer.

Appetizers include eggplant rollatini, bruschetta, clams oreganato, and long hot peppers with broccoli rabe, Italian sausage, and potatoes. There are soups, salads, sides, and a variety of subs and burgers as well as pasta dinners and seafood dishes.

Capisce Trattoria & Pizzeria is located at 22 Gibraltar Dr, Morris Plains, NJ 07950 and the phone number is 973-281-4901. Business hours are from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

The trattoria is BYOB for dine-in, and you can order takeout from the pizzeria side. You can also order for pickup and delivery online.
