Parsippany High School Band Boosters To Hold 5K Fundraiser Run
The virtual run benefits the Parsippany High School marching band booster organization
PARSIPPANY, NJ—Like most fundraising organizations, the Parsippany High School Band Boosters had to get creative this year. So, with the pandemic making large gatherings impossible, the boosters' annual 5K Run/Walk will be virtual.
"This year, we're not really having competitions," said Band Boosters spokesman Pete Giordano, "and big gatherings are out, so we had to do it a bit different this year."
Giordano said all funds raised go directly to the PHS Band Boosters general fund, which helps finance the boosters' annual scholarships.

Registration for the event is $20 and is open until Oct. 10. Participants can begin once they receive their official t-shirt around Oct. 19. They will have until Oct. 30 to complete their 5k (3.1 miles)
"We ask everyone to take a photo when they finish and send it to us," said Giordano. "It's not a verification thing, we like to put them on our Facebook page."
