Parsippany Mayor Urges Seniors To Get Flu And Pneumonia Shots
Mayor Soriano urged Parsippany seniors to get the flu and pneumonia vaccine this fall
PARSIPPANY, NJ— The Parsippany Health Department is now taking appointments for the township’s Flu & Pneumonia Clinics for seniors age 65 and older.
"Getting a flu vaccine could be more important now than ever," said Parsippany Mayor Michael Soriano, "because our health care system could become overwhelmed treating patients with flu and covid-19."
The clinic is located at the Parsippany Community Center, 1130 Knoll Rd., Lake Hiawatha. The mayor said the flu shot is $10, the pneumonia shot is $15, and both shots are covered with Medicare Part B. Residents are reminded to bring their Medicare Part B card and a photo ID. HMO's are not accepted at the clinic, the mayor said.
