Parsippany Primary Election 2023: See Who's Running
There are contested races coming up for a spot on the Parsippany-Troy Hills Township Council. See who will be on the ballot:

PARSIPPANY, NJ — The nominating petitions are in, and the field for the Parsippany-Troy Hills Township Council election has taken shape.
This year, there are three seats up for grabs on the council.
Five candidates have petitioned to run for the Republican nomination, making this year's primary for the Parsippany-Troy Hills Township Council a contested one.

Current Republican Councilman Paul Carifi, Jr. is running alongside Adam Kandil and Matthew McGrath on the Regular Republican Organization line on the ballot.
Running under the Regular Republican Party line on the ballot is Gary Martin, a former member of the Board of Education, and Parsippany resident Danny Desai.

Following the primary election, the three Republican primary winners will face off against three Democrats in the general election on Nov. 7.
Three Democratic candidates have declared their intentions to run for the Parsippany-Troy Hills Township Council. The Democratic ticket for the upcoming election will be Judy Hernandez, Bernard Clarkin and Matt Kavanagh.
Primary Election Day is June 6 in New Jersey.
Long-serving council members Michael dePierro and Loretta Gragnani have both stated that they will not run for re-election in 2023.
During a January council meeting, dePierro announced his decision not to run for re-election. He also resigned as Council president, as planned, and handed the gavel over to new President Gragnani.
Gragnani later confirmed she will not run for re-election after serving two terms.
Alongside the local races, this year's election cycle will also feature races for the Board of Commissioners and all State Senate and Assembly seats.
Parsippany is in Legislative District 26 which covers parts of Morris and Passaic Counties. The legislative map has been newly redrawn since the last state-wide election.
Current County Commissioner Tayfun Selen is facing a Republican primary challenge from Paul DeGroot and Robert Snyder. The winner of the primary will face Democrat Jonathan Sackett in the general election.
For the Assembly race, Parsippany resident BettyLou DeCroce is running against current Assemblymen Jay Webber and Brian Bergen.
