Robber Sought After Assaulting Parsippany Restaurant Worker: Cops

Crime took place in the early morning hours of March 26, police report.

PARSIPPANY, N.J. – Police are looking for a suspect who allegedly assaulted a restaurant employee while attempting to rob the business over the weekend.

Police responded to Mysore Woodlands Restaurant on Route 46 at 7:26 a.m. Saturday, March 26 for the report of a robbery. When police arrived, they found the victim, a 34-year-old Parsippany man, who had arrived at work around 5:35 a.m. to begin prepping for the day, police said.

The employee heard noises coming from the dining area shortly after he began work and encountered the suspect, police said. The suspect asked where the money was located, at which time an altercation took place, and the employee was struck by a wooden object and a glass, police said.

After a struggle, the suspect fled the restaurant and entered a four-door black vehicle parked on Old Bloomfield Avenue and left the area, police said.

The victim was taken to Saint Clare’s Hospital for treatment of injuries to his face.

The suspect was described as a skinny black male, about 5’5” in height with long braided hair or dreadlocks. He was wearing a white jacket or hooded sweatshirt at the time of the incident.
