Student 'Miscommunication' Leads To Parsippany School Lockdown

PARSIPPANY, NJ - A 'miscommunication' about a gun at Parsippany Hills High School led to a lockdown on Wednesday, according to the Parsippany Police Department.

Shortly after 10 a.m. Parsippany Hills High School was locked down as the Police Department conducted an investigation, officials said.

During the course of the investigation at PHHS by the School Resource Officers, it was determined that there was no weapon, specifically a gun, on school grounds or inside the school, police said.

"It was determined that there was miscommunication amongst the students that led to the lockdown," officials said in a statement.

The students and staff are safe, officials noted.
