Taking A Chance On A Blind Date In Tourne Park

"We've done numerous other hikes together and with our kids, but Tourne Park remains our favorite."

For this month's Love In A Small Town feature, we asked Patch readers to tell us the story behind a specific spot in town where they fell in love. For Anna Egorova, this spot is Tourne County Park in Parsippany, New Jersey. Here is her story:

“My third anniversary with my husband, Vlad, is March 16, and we met on the same day nine years ago in Tourne County Park. It was pretty much a blind date. We met online, knew little about each other and had never seen each other before.

I lived in the city, so I wanted to go see nature and asked him if he would like to go hiking. He agreed and suggested Tourne Park because he lived in Parsippany, and that was the only park in the area he knew. (My girlfriends were shocked later when they learned I went out into the woods with the guy I’d never seen before!)

After a month, we moved in together and a few years later, we got married in Cedar Lake, which is another amazing local romantic spot. We've done numerous other hikes together and with our kids, but Tourne Park remains our favorite!”
