WATCH: Christie Thanks UPS For Opening Massive Tech Facility In Parsippany
Shipping company breaks ground on 200,000 square-foot facility.

PARSIPPANY, N.J. – At a groundbreaking ceremony on Cherry Hill Road Tuesday in Parsippany, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie thanked delivery service UPS for having faith in the Garden State and keeping business here.
The company, with a giant warehouse and customer center on Jefferson Road in Parsippany, will be building a 200,000-square-foot facility to house its information technology network and professionals.
“I want to thank the folks at UPS for their confidence in our state, because I know that confidence lies not necessarily in the government, because governments change as personalities change, but it lies in the people of this state, one of the most well-educated, well-prepared populations in any of the fifty states,” Christie said.

The facility will serve as a hub for the company’s developers, designers, and other technology professionals to collaborate, innovate, and maintain current applications.
The building will house about 1,000 employees and feature solar panels, glare-proof windows, and recycled construction materials. The facility will include an on-site full service cafeteria, indoor fitness center and campus hiking trail.

“You cannot keep your eye on the horizon if you don’t have people with vision, and that vision comes from a great education, great ambition, and a great work ethic, and that’s what the people of New Jersey bring to UPS and all of our other private sector partners every day here in the state,” Christie said.
