Welcome Ramadan With Upcoming Celebration In Parsippany
Neighbors are invited to celebrate the spirit of the month-long holiday, which marks the ninth month in the Islamic calendar.
PARSIPPANY, NJ — As the holy month of Ramadan approaches for Muslims around the world, Parsippany-Troy Hills Township is preparing to welcome the holiday with local community members.
A "Welcome Ramadan Celebration" is scheduled at Town Hall on Saturday, March 9 at 5 p.m. Mayor James Barberio and other officials are inviting neighbors to "come together to embrace the spirit of Ramadan and celebrate unity in our community."
The monthlong observance of Ramadan is a time of fasting, introspection and prayer observed by 1.8 billion Muslims worldwide. It begins on the morning of Sunday, March 10 and runs through Tuesday, April 9 this year.
