Back Bay Flooding Pushing Water Onto Streets In Point Pleasant

Police are urging drivers to avoid driving through flooded streets.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — Point Pleasant police are warning drivers about flooded streets in the borough Thursday morning, urging them to avoid driving through it.

High tide inside Barnegat Bay Thursday morning combined with rainfall and the effects of the nor'easter has pushed the bay to moderate flooding, at about 3 feet above flood stage according to the National Weather Service.

Point Pleasant received nearly 3 inches of rain over the last three days, including 1.43 inches on Wednesday.

Point Pleasant police said the back bay flooding has resulted in standing water on many streets.

"Flooded streets are no-wake zones. Turn around, don't drown," police said in an alert.
