Closings On Point Beach Boardwalk As Gatherings Discouraged
Businesses have temporily closed and the restrooms are closed.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH – The Point Pleasant Beach Police Department is discouraging people from gathering on the boardwalk this weekend as boardwalk businesses have temporarily closed and restrooms have shut.
Chief Joseph Michigan said he understands that people will be tempted to go to the boardwalk this weekend. But he said the narrow boardwalk will force people to be in close proximity to each other.
"I'm asking you to stay home," he said.

Mayor Paul Kanitra noted that the town's playgrounds are now closed to prevent potential coronavirus transmission.
"We are also urging tourists and residents alike to strongly reconsider congregating on the boardwalk on nice days," Kanitra said. "The more people on the boardwalk, the harder it is to socially distance appropriately in such a narrow space."
