"A Night for Point" Fundraiser at Idle Hour

A Sandy fundraiser to benefit the volunteer Point Borough Fire Department and a Jersey Shore group giving out toys to children is being held at the Idle Hour from 4 p.m. to close Saturday.

The Brue Crew, led by Point Borough resident John Brue, and Rhyme & Reason, a Dave Matthews tribute band, are among the bands to perform at Rock-N-Relief Presents "A Night for Point," at the Idle Hour, Route 88, Point Borough.

Mark Sroka, Co-Founder/Managing Partner of Rock-N-Relief, said he has notified Borough Fire Chief Daniel Mulligan that 80 percent of the proceeds from the event will go directly to the Borough Fire Department. The fire department, along with Point Boro First Aid Squad, Borough Office of Emergency Management, police and public works, rescued people from flooded homes, and assisted the community in many ways during and after the storm.
